Dealers may select their booth location when they apply. Email Christine to reserve your selection for 7 days, which will then become final with receipt of your application. If your application is not received within 7 days, then your reservation will be released to others.

Please note! We all try to minimize costs but it would be very beneficial to pay the optional $75 for 2,000 watts of electricity. It will come in handy for lighting on Friday night set-up for those doing Jump-Start, to run radios for ambiance, for tent lighting during overcast days, to power weight scales, recharge cell phones and laptops, and to facilitate Sunday evening pack-up.

For the combined Colorado Sales Tax License and Sales Tax Return click here, read the instructions, then scroll down to Denver events and click “The Denver Coliseum Mineral, Fossil, Gem, and Jewelry Show” to fill in the on-line form (not visible until after the 2010 show). It too must be printed and mailed in.
For vendors outside the Coliseum in tents, your two set-up days are as follows:
JUMP-START vendors may begin set-up on Friday, 10-September from 9 AM to 10 PM. Overnight security begins at 7 PM on all nights from Friday 10-Sept to Saturday 18-Sept. Vendors taking advantage of JUMP-START must pay an $80 nightly security fee for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights ($240 total which is in addition to their tent fee).
For vendors setting up for only the 5-days of the publically advertised show, you may begin set-up on Tuesday, September 14 from 8 AM to 10 PM. You will have the option to set up on Monday as well, but you must pay an $80 Monday night security fee which goes towards the cost of security and additional coliseum rental costs.
Tear down does not begin anywhere in the show until 4 PM on Sunday September 19, 2010. It is assumed that exhibitors who begin packing up before that time will not be returning the following year. This strictly enforced rule is intended to minimize security problems, reduce injury risk, and maintain Sunday as a full sales day for our customers. However, excess stock may be removed from booths and tents before 4 PM as long as it is done inconspicuously *and* while maintaining stocked and attractive selling displays.
Are you shipping from within the USA and need someone to pick your pallets up at the freight depot and delivery to the Coliseum? They'll do it for the same $93.50 an hour.
And if you have merchandise left over from the Denver Coliseum Show you can store your pallets there for only $7.50 / month per pallet until Tucson. Then they will ship directly to your location in Tucson. Save money. Save time. Avoid hassles. Call Mike Masters at 303-494-6472 for more information.

If it is related to booth / table availability or billing please email Christine
The Denver Coliseum Show is the single most heavily advertised show of its kind in the USA. At the larger Tucson Arizona event in February relatively fewer sales come from the smaller local population. But with 2.5+ million people in the Denver metro area, a much larger proportion of your sales will be from wealthier Denverites. Our massive I-70 and I-25 billboard and Denver Post advertising campaign will reach 99% of this population during the weeks leading up to the show. This is in addition to the more focused advertising in Rock & Gem, Lapidary Journal / Jewelry Artist, Tucson EZ-Guide, and the Tucson Show Guide. And for those managing their expenses, shipping merchandise and traveling to/from Denver is much cheaper, faster, and convenient than Tucson. The Denver Coliseum Show is organized and run by vendors for the benefit of vendors and their customers.

Therefore, to cover additional security costs of an earlier start, each tent vendor is subject to an $80 nightly security fee for each night that they occupy a tent before Tuesday, 14-September. Therefore, if a vendor chooses to set up and begin selling on Saturday (highly recommended), then they would be subject to a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday night security fee (3 x $80) in addition to their tent fee.

HOTEL:
INTERNET:
We have negotiated a $69 / night rate at the Red Lion Hotel - Denver Central on 4040 Quebec Street which is 7 minutes (4.1 miles) away. The rate does not include breakfast (a $10 option) but it does include free in-room internet. This hotel is safe, clean, quiet, comfortable, a good value, and serves decent food. There are several closer hotels but all are either more expensive, in unsavory areas, and/or near the rumbling train yard. The Coliseum Show organizers (Christine and Lowell) do not receive a commission on hotel accommodations, however we all receive a complementary one hour wine and chef’s choice hors d’oeuvre reception for every 60 room-nights reserved via our reservation link. So for each night where 60 rooms are occupied by our dealers and customers, we all receive this benefit. It's a nice way to relax after the show while making your dinner plans for the evening.
We will install several Wi-Fi routers inside the coliseum and charge $20 for unlimited internet access for the duration of the show. Unfortunately, there will be no internet access outside in the tents. For tent dealers we recommend you buy a mobile broadband modem at Walmart for your laptop and pay for month-to-month service (no contract and you can stop service after one month).
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
All wholesale and retail dealers must obtain both a $5 Denver and an $8 Colorado Special Event License. Dealers may apply for their licenses AFTER the show at the same time that they file their sales tax returns. It is an easy process but it must be completed by October 20, 2010 to avoid penalties and interest. Please see "SALES TAXES" further down for more information.
LIGHTING RENTALS:
Our prices are the lowest of all the shows because we do not collect a commission on lighting rentals. Click here for pricing and sizes.

Click here for photos of the coliseum.
RV PARKING:
Vendors with RVs can park overnight for FREE every night from Friday, 10-Sept to Monday, 20-Sept in the west end of the rear Coliseum parking lot (furthest from the highway and the Coliseum). We need you to park away from the selling tents so that our night-time security guards can more easily monitor the area without obstructions. We've negotiated a fee of $20 for gray & waste tank pump-out + fresh water refill with our portable restroom provider Liberty Waste Management with whom you will deal directly. More information will be provided at the show.
SALES TAXES:
Dealers must collect 7.72% sales tax on each retail sale. No sales tax is collected on wholesale sales when the buyer has a business license. The City of Denver receives 3.62% of the collected amount and the state of Colorado receives the remaining 4.1%. Wholesale and retail dealers must file their return by October 20, 2010 to avoid penalties and interest.
SCALE LICENSE:
Like all states, Colorado requires a license for weight scales used for trade. While the scale must be marked "Legal for Trade" (with an NTEP Certificate of Conformance atatched) it must also have a state issued certification seal affixed to it. And like all states, Colorado does not recognize certifications from other states. A license is cheap and easy to obtain. Simply go on-line to
Colorado Scale License and fill out the short form. In 5-7 business days you'll be notified how/where to submit your payment. Alternatively, you can affix a sign to your scale stating "For Estimating Purposes Only" which means that you need not have the scale licensed. This is often done by dealers who sell large amounts of rough.
SECURITY: Inside security will be supplied by a uniformed / armed Denver policeman 24 hours a day starting at 9 AM on Wednesday, 15-Sept and ending at 6 PM on Sunday, 19-Sept. Vendors will also have access to a strong-room in a secured part of the building for overnight storage. Tent security in the daytime will be provided by an armed Army Special Operations officer, dressed as a civilian. Night-time tent security will be provided by two uniformed security agents beginning Friday, 10-Sept and end on Sunday, 19-Sept between the hours of 6 PM and 9 AM. An additional 3-5 uniformed security "roamers" will maintain high visibility during daytime hours throughout the entire venue. All will be in contact with one another via 2-way radio.
SET-UP DAYS & TIMES:
For vendors inside the Coliseum building, set-up days are Monday and Tuesday, September 13 & 14, between 9 AM and 5 PM. However, there will be no inside security on Monday night. Coliseum-supplied unarmed security will be present beginning Tuesday, September 14 at 9 AM while uniformed Denver police do not begin until 9 AM on Wednesday (the morning of the show). Therefore, you may wish to set up only shelving, display cases, large exhibits needing assembly, and place boxes of merchandise under your table on Monday. Then on Tuesday morning when coliseum security is present you can then place your selling stock on your tables, shelves, and display cases. Those with extremely expensive gems and jewelry will want to stock their displays at 8:30 AM on Wednesday morning when police are present.
SHIPPING & STORAGE:
Need to ship your merchandise early to avoid US Customs delays? Our partner Colorado Storage Systems (4545 East 52nd Ave, Commerce City, CO 80022) will collect your pallets from the freight terminal (about 2 hours round-trip) for $93.50 / hour, store them at their secure facility for $7.50 per pallet per month, and delivery them to you at the Denver Coliseum. Total cost for 12 pallets would be about $500 ($41 pallet) and for 20 pallets about $600 ($30/pallet).
SHOWCASE RENTALS:
Our prices are the lowest of all the shows because we do not collect a commission on showcase rentals. Click here for pricing and sizes.
